Nunez Community College


Nunez Community College provides a diverse offering of programs. From Business Technology to Welding, our programs of study cover the needs of today's workforce. Below is a list of all of our academic programs, which detail our available Certificates, Degrees, Diplomas, and Technical Competency Areas.
Nunez Community College collects and maintains data regarding the Gainful Employment for all students in its certificate programs. These data include: cost of attendance; student financial aid; time to degree; success rate in repayment of student loans; and the ability of finding a job in this field of study.

Business Technology

The Associate of Applied Sciences in Business Technology Program prepares students for positions in business and industry by immersing students in business theory and technology. 

Care and Development of Young Children

The Care and Development of Young Children (CDYC) program prepares students to effectively educate young children while assuring their health, safety, and well-being in a number of professional settings.

Culinary Arts and Culinary Entrepreneurship

Occupations in the culinary arts are as varied as the many professional culinary settings in which students can work. Cooks, Chefs, and Restaurant Managers can look forward to jobs in bakeries, restaurants, hotels, schools, and cafés. The Culinary Entrepreneurship program brings together principals of small business management with culinary skills for students who want to own their own food-industry business.

Electrical Construction
Electricians install and maintain residential, commercial, and industrial electrical and power systems.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) respond to emergencies, perform basic medical procedures, and transport patients to medical facilities for further care. They may work in an ambulance, with fire and police departments, or as part of rescue teams.

General Studies

The Associate Degree in General Studies is a springboard into a future Bachelor's Degree, offering fundamentals in a wide array of core disciplines such as humanities, mathematics, and sciences.

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Certificate Program provides students with the theory, hands-on learning and work experience they need to excel in a number of HVAC fields.

Industrial Technology (PTEC) and Industrial Maintenance

Industrial Maintenance Technicians design, install, operate, maintain, and repair complex industrial machinery, as well as diagnose and solve equipment problems machinery using a wide array of skills, including tool expertise; error analysis; machinery upkeep; small-scale fabrication and repairs; and, electrical work. They also read schematics are educated in safety procedure in order to endure the success of production in industries.

Louisiana Transfer Degree

The Louisiana Transfer Degree provides a seamless transition into baccalaureate programs at Louisiana four-year colleges and universities.

Medical Billing and Coding

Medical Billing and Coding Professionals are in demand in Hospitals, Clinics, Doctor's Offices, and Insurance Agencies. Some even work online, utilizing alphanumeric codes and other information regarding the administrative and clerical aspects of the medical field.

Natural Sciences

Natural Sciences include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and other physical sciences like Geology and Math.


Nurses are in such high demand these days that at any given time there are typically more job openinings than there are occupants to fill them.  Nunez Community College provides the programs that train our students for various opportunities in the nursing field.

Paralegal Studies

The Paralegal Associate of Arts Degree is designed to educate and train Paralegals to work under the supervision of Attorneys in Law Firms, Insurance Companies, Government Agencies, Title Companies, Banks, and Corporations.

Teaching (Grades 1-5)
Students who intend to transfer to a Teacher Education Program at a four-year institution should consider the Associate of Applied Science in Teaching (Grades 1-5).

Skilled Welders are always in high-demand, and work in Construction, Industrial, and Manufacturing Industries at the Basic or Journeyman (Apprentice) levels.
