LOUIS Catalogs

Nunez Community College Library is a member of LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network. This consortium provides access to the library catalogs for most academic institutions in Louisiana. The Nunez Library catalog is designed to give you efficient access to our library holdings including books, e-books, audiovisual items, periodicals and reference materials. Titles belonging to the St. Bernard Genealogical Society may also be searched through the Nunez catalog.

EBSCOhost provides indexing and much full-text access to periodicals (journals, magazines and newspapers) and reference materials. Academic Search Premier covers general and academic subjects. Subject-specific databases cover health and business. Indexes are also available for art, agriculture, education, literature, and psychology.

LexisNexis Academic contains newspaper articles (including the Times-Picayune and the Baton Rouge Advocate), some journal articles, and law resources.

JSTOR contains full-text image backfiles of journals covering the humanities and social sciences with some science and business.

Faculty Research Databases

The databases found here are primarily indexes for in-depth research. They include access to Dissertation Abstracts; Sanborn Maps; Sociological Abstracts, Social Services Abstracts, National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts, ERIC, MedLine and Toxline via CSA; Mental Measurements Yearbook; and MathSciNet.

NetLibrary

Full Text Books via NetLibrary

Contains the full-text of over 20,000 titles covering all subject areas with a concentration on books published since 1998. Access to these titles is available also through the catalog (LOUIS icon). Books can be viewed on campus without registering. To view books off-campus, you must first register while on campus.
