This database system contains many full text periodicals as well as access to traditional indexes and abstracts. Some examples of full-text sources include Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, and Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition.

Academic Search Premier is the pre-selected database for the system. It provides information on a variety of subjects including the Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, and contemporary issues.

The default for the various databases is to conduct a Basic Search using Keywords. Once your words or phrases are entered into the "Find" box either hit enter or click "Search."
Most searches retrieve very large numbers of articles; therefore it is usually helpful to limit your search to "Full Text" articles or even more narrowly to "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals". You will notice that you can also limit by dates, publication titles, and publication types.

Of course if your search is not coming up with any results at all you may need to broaden your search to include "Also search within the full text of the articles".

Full text results in EBSCOhost come in the form of either HTML or .PDF files. Both of these formats can be "Added" to a folder for review, emailing, downloading to a disk, or printing.

Please see a librarian to learn more about searching Advanced Search, Subjects, or Publications.

Return to the Nunez Library Home Page
