Nunez Inducts 17 into Gamma Beta Phi for 2020

The Nunez Community College chapter of the Gamma Beta Phi honors and service society held its new member induction ceremony Dec. 9 via online conference.   
 
Newly inducted members include Carolyn Abadie (Covington), Nicholas Brunet (Bourg), Bennie Burman (Slidell), Jessica Curran (Slidell), Kristine Dauzat (Chalmette), Lauri Dorand (Slidell), Regina Hains (New Orleans), Brent Hernandez (Meraux), Wendy Jarred (Bush), Derekneka Magee (Slidell), Elizabeth Martinez (Metairie), Paul McIntyre (New Orleans), Sal Montalbano (Prairieville), Nicolas Montalbano (Prairieville), Michelle Roper (Meraux), Caleb Simon (New Orleans) and Dejanae Thompson (Chalmette).  
 
The Nunez chapter of Gamma Beta Phi was recognized by the national Gamma Beta Phi Society earlier this year with an Exemplary Chapter Award for Fall 2019-Spring 2020. The Nunez chapter is also currently hosting a Food & Toy Drive to benefit the Community Center of St. Bernard and the St. Bernard Battered Women’s Program. Donations for the Food & Toy Drive can be dropped off in the Administration Building lobby on the Nunez campus through Dec. 17.
 
To be invited to join Gamma Beta Phi, students must earn a GPA of 3.2 or better and have completed 12 credit hours or more without any developmental classes.  A satisfactory GPA and service to the school and/or community are required for continued membership.
