The Academic Achievement Award for highest GPA in all nursing courses went to Crystal Schaub.

“Rest assured, this is not an easy accomplishment,” said Nunez Nursing Director Brittney Zaffuto. “This is a huge academic accomplishment.”

The Nightingale Award, chosen by the nursing faculty as the student who “demonstrates the qualities of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing” went to Brittney George.

Brittney always came to class eager to learn and determined to apply her knowledge with her patients. She displayed great knowledge and caring in both clinical and theory classes,” said Zaffuto. “She often would help out her classmates in clinical with caring for their patients when she had already completed the care for her own patients. She was described by her clinical instructors as compassionate and was always willing to go the extra mile for her patients to meet their needs.”

The Spirit Award, given to the “class cheerleader,” went to Jasmine Brinker.

“Jasmine is described by her peers as someone who would never let the class give up. They said her spirit is what kept them going to finish the nursing program strong,” said Zaffuto.
