A $62,500 grant from Agenda for Children’s Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate (ECAC) Program will provide enrollment stipends and technology incentives for Nunez Care and Development of Young Children (CDYC) students to take three courses that will earn them two industry-based credentials (IBCs) and their Career Technical Certificate.

CDYC students completing CDYC 1025 (Strengthening the CDYC II) during Spring Mini-Session A, CDYC 1035 (Strengthening the CDYC III) during Spring Mini-Session B, and CDYC 1015 (Strengthening the CDYC I) during the Fall Full-Term, will be eligible to test and apply for the Child Development Associate (CDA) from the Council for Professional Recognition, and the Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate from the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE). In addition, students completing those three courses will earn their Career Technical Certificate in CDYC.

Students wishing to take advantage of the ECAC grant must be working or must begin working in a childcare center to be eligible.

Classes are hybrid, meeting in-person on Mondays 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. in addition to online work. The full schedule will be issued during the first class.
