Kim Doty, staff sponsor for the Nunez Community College Chapter of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, and Terry Doty pause for a moment with 20 Easter Baskets that were eventually distributed to children in the Family Violence Program of St. Bernard. Events like the Easter Toy Drive have earned the Nunez chapter of GBP a fifth consecutive Exemplary Chapter Award.
For the fifth year running, the national Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society has recognized the Nunez Community College chapter with an Exemplary Chapter Award.
Every year, the Nunez Gamma Beta Phi (GBP) chapter hosts Christmas and Easter toy drives for the Family Violence Program of St. Bernard. The announcement of the Exemplary Chapter Award coincided with the Nunez GBP’s assembly of 20 Easter baskets full of toys and treats headed to children in the Family Violence Program.
The Nunez GBP also hosts a Thanksgiving canned food drive each fall to help restock our Pelican Pantry, in addition to chapter meetings and fellowship events.
Nunez students interested in joining or volunteering with Gamma Beta Phi can email our chapter sponsor, Kim Doty, at [email protected].
Summer classes are set to start June 2 at Nunez. Registration is open now for both the summer and fall semesters. Assistance with registration is available at Nunez.edu/Advising.
