The Workforce Division at Nunez Community College in Chalmette will offer a Construction Site Safety Course in September.
Students who complete the course will earn four industry-based certificates from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) and one from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The course is scheduled to run Sept. 8-18, with classes meeting Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Nunez campus. The price of the course is $1,500.
The course is designed to prepare trainees for the widely recognized safety certifications offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, including the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST). The safety training within NCCER’s curricula provides the foundation for change in safety culture, promoting a safety-first philosophy – from the new employee to every level of management.
