The Workforce Division at Nunez Community College will offer NFPA-70E and Contact Release Training certification course Sept. 19, 2025.

The course will run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Kane Building on Nunez’s Chalmette campus. Cost is $490. Lunch will be provided.

Instruction will cover protections from electrical hazards. These include arc flash, arc blast, proper lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment, risk assessment and control, emergency response, and contact release training. Contact release focuses on the critical skill of safely detaching a victim from an energized circuit after an electrical shock.
