On Nov. 11, Nunez Community College will host 'Honoring Our Veterans,' a special Veterans Day edition of our History Lecture Series in the Nunez Auditorium.
In celebration of Veterans Day, Nunez Community College invites the community to attend the next event in its History Lecture Series, honoring the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes.
Join us Tuesday, Nov. 11, as we welcome a panel of local veterans who will share personal stories from their time in the armed services. This program is free and open to the community.
This Honoring Our Veterans program will highlight the courage, dedication, and resilience of men and women from St. Bernard Parish and the surrounding region who have served in defense of our country. Through this engaging conversation, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the experiences that shaped our veterans’ lives and their ongoing contributions to our community.
Doors open to the Nunez Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. for an opening reception with refreshments. The program will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by a laser light show finale projected on the outside wall of the Nunez Auditorium until 8:15 p.m.
On Veterans Day morning, Nunez will also host its annual Pinning Ceremony, honoring all Nunez students, faculty and staff who have served in the armed forces. The Pinning Ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Black Box Theater located in the Fine Arts Building on the Nunez campus. This program is also open to the community and will feature refreshments.
All former Nunez students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the Pinning Ceremony. To participate, please contact Nunez LAVETCORPS Navigator Laura Lancon at [email protected] or 504-278-6426.
