The Workforce Division at Nunez Community College has released its slate of heavy equipment certification courses for Fall 2026.
Three distinct programs are available.
Heavy Equipment
Heavy Equipment is a six-week program that offers certifications on equipment including aerial lift, bulldozer, excavator, forklift, front loader, scissor lift, skid steer and telehandler. Students will also earn certifications in AED (Automated External Defibrillator), CPR, and first aid.
Two Heavy Equipment courses are available in the fall: Aug. 3-Sept. 11 and Oct. 5-Nov. 13. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday on the Nunez campus from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Heavy Equipment course costs $5,500.
Powered Industrial Trucking (PIT)
PIT is a two-day program that offers certifications on boom lift, forklift, scissor lift and telescopic lift.
Two PIT courses are available: Aug. 13-Aug. 14 and Nov. 12-Nov. 13. Classes will meet on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
The PIT course costs $675.
Forklift
Forklift certification is a one-day program.
Three forklift courses are available: Aug. 28, Oct. 30 and Dec. 18. Classes will meet from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
The forklift course costs $100
“Students who complete these programs will significantly improve their job prospects and their potential value at any construction-based work site,” said Nunez Workforce Director Brian Gibson.
