Chef Ronda Deforest, Nunez Culinary Instructor, is hoping to continue the momentum Nunez leisure classes built during the spring and summer when the program hosted popular classes like ultimate brunch, cinnamon rolls, and handmade Alfredo. She hopes to lure more first-time visitors to the Nunez campus to promote the college as a community resource, as well as an institution of higher learning.
“Teaching and learning take many forms at Nunez,” said Chef Ronda. “You don’t have to be a full-time student in the Culinary program to sharpen your cooking and presentation skills. We can teach you to make beautiful floral centerpieces, how to safely and precisely chop meat and veggies, and to make your own yaka mein from scratch, all in short, hands-on classes, usually with a glass of wine within arm’s reach.”
