The entire community is invited to take part in an evening of free candy, costumes, fun and food at Nunez Community College’s Trunk or Treat 2026.
Trunk or Treat will open to the public from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The atmosphere is family friendly, and kids will get all the candy they can eat from the many trunks and tables set up by community members and organizations, businesses, and Nunez academic programs.
Each year, Trunk or Treat draws thousands of guests to the Nunez campus. The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office will be out in force to direct traffic and ensure the safety of all visitors.
The sign-in process will change slightly this year. The line to enter will form along the edge of the newly-renovated parking lot to the Aerospace Manufacturing Technology Building across West Magnolia Drive to the north of the main parking lot where the event will take place.
Parking will once again be concentrated at Arlene Meraux Elementary School, just to the north of the Nunez campus on Paris Road. School buses will shuttle families to and from Nunez and Arlene Meraux at regular intervals.
Free jambalaya and water will be served while supplies last. DJ Louis Lehr will provide Halloween tunes to keep the energy high. And plenty of Nunez faculty and staff will be on hand to assist guests.
Please keep an eye on Nunez social media in the coming days for possible updates regarding Trunk or Treat.
