GWO Advanced Rescue Training
The Advanced Rescue Training (ART) from the Global Wind Organization (GWO) is a 3-day course that teaches workers how to safely rescue someone from a wind turbine. Students learn to use rescue equipment and help injured workers who cannot get down on their own, practicing in areas like the hub, blades, tower, and base. They also learn how to move injured people safely and talk with emergency responders.
After the course, students earn a GWO ART certification. Participants must be at least 18 years old, be in good health, and bring steel-toed boots and proper work clothes. They must also already have GWO Basic Safety Training in Working at Heights, First Aid, and Manual Handling.
