Nunez Community College, in conjunction with St. Bernard Professional Women's Network, hosted the third installment of its quarterly She Means Business Workshop on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Fine Arts Center on campus.

She Means Business is a professional workforce development series focused on sharing experiences, advice and guidance in an effort to help women network, negotiate and navigate today's professional workplace. The quarterly series is designed to bring women together to listen, learn and share in a powerful way to help promote diversity and equity at work and in the community.

Before a capacity crowd, the panel consisted of women in government. Dialogue was facilitated by Danielle Martin, Brand Management & Community Relations for St. Bernard  Economic Development. The esteemed panel included Wanda Alcon, St. Bernard Councilwoman District D,  Kim Jones,  34th Judicial District Court Judge and  Julie Stokes,  Louisiana State Representative District 79.  The event was coordinated by Nunez's Director of Development, Katherine Lemoine.

Those in attendance described the workshop as engaging, enlightening and empowering with an incredibly powerful message.

Refreshments were provided by Cafe Aquarius and sponsored by Rock & Roll Car Wash.   Other supporters included The Coffee House and Tapestry Linens. Admission to She Means Business is complimentary. The next workshop will take place on Thursday, January 24, 2019. For more information about this event, email klemoine@nunez.edu.
