Nunez Offers Winter Intersession

Nunez Community College will offer a Winter Intersession December 18, 2019 - January 9, 2020  between the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters.  Students in these courses will earn the same number of credit hours as students who take these courses in the regular semester. All intersession courses will be conducted online through the Canvas platform.

If you are a student who wants to get a head start on the next semester, are trying to make up some time in your degree program, or just want to take advantage of a compressed course in an intensive format, an intersession course might be a good fit for you. Students must be comfortable with online learning, able to set and keep stringent deadlines, have the time to commit to coursework daily, and be willing to work hard over three weeks to master course content. Since all intersession courses are conducted online and over a period when the campus is closed for several days, students must be comfortable interacting with instructors and other college personnel electronically.

All of the courses offered this intersession are on the Louisiana Transfer Matrix, meaning that they transfer to public colleges and universities in Louisiana. Most will transfer to private and out of state institutions as well. The receiving institution makes the final determination in transfer decisions, so if there is a concern, contact the transfer institution before starting the course.

Nunez Community College welcomes visiting students to participate in Intersession classes, but if you intend to transfer these classes back to your degree program, you should always check with your home institution for any rules that apply.

Financial Aid may be used for the Intersession; however, students should confirm their eligibility with the Nunez Financial Aid Office or the Financial Aid Office at their home institution.
