More than 60 classes—with 34 available online—will be offered during Nunez Community College’s Mini-Session B, and a special program will provide students with free course texts and required supplies for all of them.
The eight-week session runs March 16-May 10 and offers full-credit, transferable courses at affordable prices. Financial aid is available to qualifying students.
Mini-Session B also marks the last eligible period for a special program from Follett and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. Follett Access provides Nunez students with all course texts and all supplies included on course syllabi free of charge.
For example, students who enroll in any of the six Welding courses offered during Mini-Session B will receive their personal protective equipment at no cost.
Any questions about the Follett Access program, including student eligibility, can be emailed to email@example.com.
Online courses available during Mini-Session B include Intro to Anatomy and Physiology and Nutrition and Diet Therapy, which are both prerequisites for Nunez’s Practical Nursing program. The application period for Nunez’s Fall 2023 PN program runs March 1-May 31.
Nursing Assistant, which prepares students to sit for the Certified Nursing Assistant certification test, will also be offered on-campus during Mini-Session B.
Other available courses include General Education courses like English Composition I, College Algebra, and Human Growth and Development, all of which are transferrable to other colleges and universities. Students currently attending other institutions of higher learning who may want to take a course at an affordable price are welcome to enroll in Mini-Session B and can be confident that the credit will easily transfer to their home institution once they request a credit transfer.
Specialized courses include Introduction to Aerospace (for the Aerospace Manufacturing Technology program), Coastal Science (for the Coastal Studies and GIS Technology program), Food Service Management (for the Culinary Arts and Entrepreneurship program), and Job Readiness Skills (for Process Technology, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration, and Aerospace Manufacturing Technology).
