Join us Saturday, Feb. 21, from 11am-3pm on the Nunez campus for the first Bayou Blast-Off at Nunez Community College, a one-of-a-kind Aerospace Discovery Day.
Free tickets are still available at Nunez.edu!
ACTIVITIES
A map listing name and location of all feature attractions and useful facilities such as restrooms is available on the Nunez Facebook and Instagram pages. We will have multiple food trucks on site selling a variety of quick meals, snacks and drinks.
A limited number of attractions, such as the Gyroscope and Bounce House, will require parents or guardians to fill out a waiver in order for minors to participate.
A 30% chance of rain is forecast for Saturday. In the event of rain, all activities will move to the Physical Activity Center (PAC) on the Nunez campus. The PAC is located west of the AST Building, which is above the AST Building on the orientation shown. Guests can walk down the central hallway of the AST Building and out the back door to reach the PAC.
PARKING & SECURITY
Parking for Bayou Blast-Off will be located at Arlene Meraux Elementary School, which is just north of the Nunez campus on Paris Road.
Using the same system Nunez employs for Trunk or Treat each October, buses will shuttle guests to the Nunez campus and back to the Meraux Elementary campus at regular intervals. The roads on campus will be blocked off to traffic, with intersections monitored by St. Bernard Sheriff's Office personnel.
Our thanks go out to St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office for providing security and traffic control.
