Position: Bilingual (Spanish) Camp Instructor
Division: STEAM
Reports To: Director of STEAM

Position Summary
The Bilingual Camp Instructor will lead students in various activities during Space Camp. The Bilingual Instructor will help to translate instructions and materials to Hispanic speaking students in grades 3-6. This program will run July 10-14, 2023. The instructor's hours will be 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Education and Experience Required

  • Experience in teaching elementary students in a Bilingual setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Experience in translating in an academic setting.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Elementary Education field of Study (License).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Director of STEAM for four hours prior to July 10, 2023.
  • Implementation and coordination of the prepared program and schedule.
  • Assisting with any necessary changes to the program as conflicts arise.
  • Assist with moderating discussions and keeping order during discussions.
  • Supervise the students during camps/workshops.
  • Translate instructions and social conversations for students.

* This program will allow students to participate in various inquiry/STEAM based activities that revolve around NASA’s space program.
