Each college is allowed to select 14 paid holidays throughout the year. Nunez Community College has selected the above holidays for 2018. Any additional holidays proclaimed by the governor will not apply to Nunez Community College.

Every employee will need an annual or compensatory leave bank of no less than 16 hours (prorated for part time employees) in order to be paid for the college closure during the Mardi Gras break, no less than 32 hours (prorated for part time employees) in order to be paid during the Winter Holiday Break. Supervisors and employees should work together in order to ensure that all employees have ample opportunities to earn enough compensatory leave to cover the college closure days. Examples of opportunities include registration, recruiting activities, and other projects beneficial to the college which result in working more than an 80 hour pay period. 

If unpaid leave touches a holiday, the employee will NOT be paid for the holiday.
