Position: DIRECTOR of IR/IE and Compliance- SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison
Department: Education, Training and Student Success
Reports To: Vice Chancellor for Education, Training and Student Success
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Education, Training and Student Success, the purpose of the Director of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Compliance/SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison is to coordinate the college’s overall compliance with applicable state and federal rules, regulations and statutory requirements as outlined by the Board of Regents (BOR), the LCTCS, SACSCOC and other governing and accrediting bodies; strategic planning; leading, and evaluating comprehensive processes of institutional accreditation; assessment, and institutional research.
The Director of IR/IE & Compliance supervises the IR/IE staff who provide data collection, data analysis, and research activities relative to institutional research required for state and federal reports regarding College activities, facilitates assessment, writes college policy, internal institutional processes and assessment data collection and analysis processes.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- A Master’s degree in related field.
- 3-5 years, executive level administrative experience may substitute for degree requirement. Educational administrative experience required, including experience with SACSOCC accreditation reviews; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and handle administrative details and follow-up in a thorough and professional manner. The ability to anticipate future needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective public speaking skills.
- A thorough understanding and commitment to the mission and values of Nunez Community College.
- Competence in oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred:
- Earned doctorate degree.
- Experience with data analysis and knowledge of effective assessment practices.
- Proven administrative and fiscal management experience in higher education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist institutional Unit Heads in the process of updating/implementing College policies and procedures as assigned. Perform compliance related audits, and other duties such as determining the presence of internal controls and reliance on organizational structure. Establish effective working relationships and build credibility with faculty, staff and students to promote a culture of ethics and compliance.
- Manage the coordination of all data collection and reporting of institutional data to local (LCTCS System), state (Louisiana Board of Regents), national (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), and other regional, national, and ad-hoc external agencies; plan and coordinate all program evaluation efforts for all institutional departments and Academic programs in response to Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) principles of accreditation. Coordinate the assessment of student achievement data collection and programmatic planning for SACSCOC accreditation purposes. Assist in the assessment of compliance readiness of all College areas, and work collaboratively with operational leaders in order to ensure that compliance matters are promptly handled or forwarded for follow-up or response.
- Ensure that compliance with accreditation requirements is incorporated into the planning and evaluation process of the institution. Familiarizes faculty, staff, and students with the SACSCOC accrediting policies and procedures, and with particular sections of the accrediting standards and Commission policies that have application to certain aspects of the campus (e.g., library, continuing education) especially when such documents are adopted or revised. Serve as a contact person for SACSCOC Commission staff. Coordinate the preparation of the annual profiles and any other reports requested by the Commission. Serve as a resource person during the decennial review process and helping prepare for and coordinating reaffirmation and other accrediting visits. Ensure that electronic institutional data collected by the Commission is accurate and timely. Maintain a file of all accreditation materials, such as, reports related to the decennial review; accreditation committee reports; accreditation manuals, standards, and policies; schedules of all visits; and correspondence from accrediting offices.
- Assist in the execution and growth of the institution’s mission by working closely with key College representatives, providing guidance to faculty and staff regarding obligations and safeguard, and raising awareness through education and training. Prepares written reports, resources and education training materials on timely
compliance topics. Design, develop and conduct compliance related trainings. Attend local, regional and national conferences as assigned by the Chancellor of the College related to Accreditation, Assessment and Compliance of the College. Collect and analyzes data and develops metrics to measure the effectiveness of the compliance, ethics program and Strategic Planning initiatives undertaken on behalf of the College. Offer recommendations for strategic planning activities/initiatives, data collection - Research and develop recommendations to the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Executive Officers, and Deans on how most effectively to address compliance-related issues of college-wide applicability including high risk compliance areas such as but not limited to academics, financial aid, grants, data privacy and security, records retention, and State-level Curriculum matters.

Supervision:
The Director of IR/IE & Compliance – SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison will directly supervise staff and will have oversight of all reports.
Physical Demands (When Applicable):
- Ability to work in excess of 40 hours a week, which may include nights and weekends.
- Ability to view a computer screen for long periods of time.
- Ability to function in a high-pressure, stressful environment and meet stringent deadlines.
- Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
- Ability to carry <25 lbs., stand, sit, reach, bend, climb.
