About Nunez Community College
Nunez Community College is seeking a Senior Facility Foreman responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and oversight of campus facilities, infrastructure systems, and maintenance operations. This position ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all physical assets, including buildings, grounds, and utility systems, while maintaining compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The role also leads capital improvement initiatives, contractor management, and operational optimization efforts to support the college’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

This program ensures the reliable operation of Nunez Community College facilities, supporting campus safety, functionality, and long-term planning. Essential duties include:

  • Direct and manage daily operations, maintenance, and reliability of campus facilities and infrastructure systems. Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and standard operating documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Oversee capital outlay, major repairs, and deferred maintenance projects. Maintain accurate facility records, including floor plans and room inventories, and identify operational efficiency opportunities through data analysis.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor comprehensive preventative maintenance programs. Inspect ongoing maintenance activities and ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards. Proactively assess facility conditions and implement strategies to strengthen buildings against environmental risks such as wind, water, and fire.
  • Manage and coordinate service contractors across multiple trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, and elevators. Schedule and inspect contracted work, ensuring quality and compliance prior to approving invoices.
  • Oversee the facilities work order system, ensuring timely response to maintenance requests, service issues, and customer concerns. Collaborate with administrative staff to communicate updates and maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents affecting campus facilities, including after-hours situations. Document damages, track labor and equipment usage, and coordinate with internal departments on insurance and disaster recovery claims.
  • Supervise facilities-related procurement processes, including approval of purchasing transactions and ensuring adherence to institutional guidelines.
  • Support and coordinate campus event and rental operations in collaboration with event management staff. Assist in planning, scheduling, and developing strategies to enhance facility utilization and increase revenue from external rentals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Twelve (12) years of maintenance or related experience.
  • Seven (7) years of supervisory experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively with individuals at varying levels of expertise.
  • High aptitude in accounting and computer use for operational and financial reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the college professionally and engage respectfully with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in Construction, HVAC, Electrical, or related field.
  • Ability to work beyond standard hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, or work in non-climate-controlled environments for extended periods.
  • Experience operating facilities equipment and managing multiple campus locations .
