Circulation Policy
Nunez Community College Library provides its faculty, students, and the community with a wide selection of books, periodicals, DVD, VCR and cassette tapes, government documents and archival material. Its collection consists of over 48,000 volumes; about 37 current periodicals.
Books are arranged according to the Library of Congress System in an open shelf format. Special areas are set aside for the reference books, children's books, state documents, and the law library.
Periodicals are arranged alphabetically by title. Current editions of periodicals are on display shelves.
Media and Archival material are kept in closed stack areas.
Circulation Requirements:
Students:
A current Nunez Community College I.D. card with a valid barcode is required to borrow materials. A student I.D. card can be obtained from the Library. Students are not allowed to check out material when school is not in session, but they are welcome to use the library whenever it is open.
Faculty and Staff:
All faculty and staff must have current I.D. cards with valid barcodes to check out materials.
Borrowers Requirements:
Students and Staff:
Each patron may borrow a maximum of 5 items, which may include not more than 2 media items. These are usually borrowed on a two-week loan, and if these items are not placed on hold, then they may be renewed.
Faculty:
Faculty may borrow up to 10 items usually on a semester basis. These items must be returned at the end of each semester, but upon request by returning full-time faculty members, materials may be renewed for the following semester. All items borrowed by adjunct faculty must be returned at the end of the current semester.
