LOUISIANA NOTARY EXAM PREPARATION COURSE

An active commissioned Louisiana notary public as a licensed attorney, who is a registered notary education preparation course provider, will teach a non-credit course of instruction for persons interested in preparing to take the Louisiana Notary Examination, which is given twice a year on the first Saturday in June and December at regional testing centers. Completion of the course does not ensure qualification to take the notary exam or guarantee that a student will pass the notary exam or receive a notary commission. The notary exam and a commission or appointment of notary public is administered by the Louisiana Secretary of State per La. R.S. 35:191 et. seq.

The course fee only includes access to the lecture class.

Required textbook: The Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice exam study guide, available from the Secretary of State office at
https://coraweb.sos.la.gov/Notary/OrderStudyGuides.aspx
This study guide contains the sources and materials from which the notary exam items are drawn.

Students must independently complete a Notary Exam Pre-Assessment Application to Qualify and an Application to Qualify in order to be allowed to take the state notary exam, which includes associated fees that are not included in the fee for the non-credit lecture class at Nunez. The Secretary of State’s website recommends that applicants submit both well in advance of the deadline. The deadline to complete the Pre-Assessment is 67 days prior to the exam
