Position:  CNC and Machine Tool Adjunct Instructor
Division: Workforce Development
Reports To: Director of Workforce Development

The CNC/Machine Tool Instructor will be responsible for the CNC and Machine Tool training programs. The ideal candidate must possess journey-level skills in CNC programming and machine tool operation as well as managing/supervising skills in a machining environment. The CNC/Machine Tool Instructor will also be responsible for the instruction and curriculum development under the supervision of the Director of Workforce Development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years CNC programming and/or machine tool operation experience in an industrial or educational environment. Including conventional (manual) machine tool operation, blueprint reading/engineering drawings, precision (and non-precision) measuring tools, conventional hand tools and layout.
  • Experience in Millwright duties and procedures.
  • The adjunct faculty member will demonstrate procedures and prepare students for possible NIMS and other industry-related certifications.
  • Excellent computer applications, particularly in using Master Cam software, Microsoft Office 2010, and Outlook; ability to learn new software and other technology
  • Excellent managing and supervisory skills
  • Excellent mechanical print reading skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with solid interpersonal relationship skills for teaching; excellent customer service skills.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma
  • Field of Study: Machinist
  • Certifications (HAAS, Technical Certificate, NIMS)

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Machining

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The adjunct faculty member will demonstrate procedures and prepare students for possible NIMS and other industry-related certifications.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in CNC 3 and 5 axis machining
  • Experience in CNC Plasma machining
  • Experience with CAD design programs such as Solidworks, MasterCam or AutoCad
  • Ability to complete a project from conception to completion
  • Teaching experience

Physical and Mental Demands
Bending, carrying, Driving, Push/Pull, Climbing, Crawling, Reaching, sitting, squatting, Standing, Twisting, and Working above shoulder.
