Position: Human Resources Coordinator
Division: Strategic Engagement and Human Capital
Reports To: Executive Director of Strategic Engagement and Human Capital

Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Engagement and Human Capital, the Human Resources Coordinator provides comprehensive human resources services including talent acquisition, retention and employment services, performance management, training and staff development, regulatory compliance, labor and employee relations, and human resource information systems and records management.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Earned Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 3-5 years as a Human Resources Generalist.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion and use diplomacy when interacting with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize projects and programs to meet deadlines, have the ability to work independently, be able to prepare official documents, and have strong articulation and people skills.

Preferred

  • Work in Higher Education environment.
  • Banner HR/Payroll.
  • HRIS.
  • Civil Service Employee Administration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit and manage the interview process for all college personnel. Set up and manage the PageUp talent management software.
  • Execute the on-boarding of all college personnel. This includes, but is not limited to, entering employee information in Banner system, completion of all new hire documents, new hire orientation, and setting up and maintenance of all employee files.
  • Administer, track and ensure the employee completion of all required trainings.
  • Initiate and manage all faculty contracts through the automated signature software and Banner.
  • Manage the college's performance management practices including, but not limited to, annual/semi-annual evaluation and disciplinary processes.
  • Serve as primary contact and resource for all Civil Service employees.
  • Responsible for Family and Medical Leave Act by informing employees of their rights and responsibilities. Assist employees in processing of FMLA application and monitor all applications to ensure proper procedures are followed. Issues FMLA documents to necessary parties and assures completion of return to work documents.
  • Responsible for worker's compensation by providing information and assistance to employees and managers. Maintain contact with injured employee and contact medical provider for updates.
  • Create and manage exit procedures for terminated employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, computer software, etc.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Positive attitude, patience, high energy, and enthusiasm for helping others.
  • Willingness to travel within the region for training and professional development.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, good follow-up and task completion.
