Position: Summer Program Assistant
Division: STEAM
Reports To: Director of STEAM

Position Summary
The Summer Program Assistant Instructor will work with the Director of STEAM leading students in various activities at various events during the summer. The Summer Program Assistant Instructor will help the director with one day workshops and 3 summer camps for students in grades K-8. These programs will be: June 2, 2023, June 7, 2023, June 14, 2023, June 21, 2023, June 26-30, 2023, July 7, 2023, July 10-14, 2023, July 17-21, 2023 and July 27, 2023. The assistant instructor hours will be 8:30 AM to 3: 30 PM for full day programs and 8:30 AM till 12:30 pm for half day programs.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Experience in teaching elementary and middle school students.

Preferred:

  • Elementary Education field of Study

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Meet with the Director of STEAM for four hours prior to June 2, 2023.
  • Implementation and coordination of the prepared program and schedule.
  • Assisting with any necessary changes to the program as conflicts arise.
  • Assist with moderating discussions and keeping order during discussions.
  • Supervise the students during camps/workshops.

* This program will allow students to participate in various inquiry/STEAM based activities including robotics, Space Camp, Energy Camp and STEAM workshops.
